Outdoor kitchen layouts that work
The right layout depends on the space you have and how you like to host. These are the three we build most often:
- Straight line against a wall: grill, prep counter and sink in one run. Ideal for townhomes and narrow patios.
- L-shape: separates the cooking zone from the prep and serving zone, so more than one person can work at a time.
- Island with bar seating: guests sit facing the cook. Popular next to the pool or as the center of a covered terrace.
Materials that handle the Florida climate
Sun, humidity, salt air and summer storms are hard on outdoor kitchens. We use an aluminum structure that does not rust or rot, stainless steel equipment, and WPC or PVC cladding for a wood look with no painting or sealing.
A pergola or patio cover over the kitchen protects the equipment and the cook. A solid or insulated roof keeps the area dry during afternoon rain and noticeably cooler at midday.

Every quote is different, but these are the main factors: the length of the counter and number of modules, the equipment you choose (grill, side burner, refrigerator, sink), whether you need new water, gas or electrical connections, and whether the kitchen goes under a new or existing roof.
